'God of War 3' Release Date PS4 News: Remastered Game Coming to PS4 This July

A remastered edition of "God of War 3"will be coming to PS4 in July this year. The announcement was made on Sunday by Sony which owns Sony Santa Monica Studio, the creators of the game.

News of the remastered edition came via the PlayStation Blog where it was revealed that the new version was being released to honor the 10th anniversary of the game.

The original game titled "God of War" saw the arrival of the character Kratos. It turned out to be immensely successful. Giving full credit to the original game's creator David Jaffe, Sony noted that he was able to successfully create a long drawn confrontation between the Spartan warrior Kratos and several titans and gods.

Since news of the remastered edition came out, Aaron Kaufman, who works as a community strategist for Sony Santa Monica, stated on the PlayStation Blog that "God of War 3" would be the only game from the series to have been reworked. As for the rest they will continue to be available for older consoles such as the PS3.

With "God of War 3" joining a list of other games that are being remastered, it appears that Sony wants to improve the list of games that are currently available to next generation consoles like the PS4.

As for the improvements in the game, Sony has promised fights that are "silky smooth" in 1080p. Engadget said this could mean that Sony is planning to use a frame rate of 60 frames per second.

The remastered edition also includes a photo mode which can be used to capture images of kills made in the game or any great looking scenery.

The PS4 version of "God of War 3" is scheduled to arrive on July 14 for those in the United States. Gamers in the U.K. will get it a few days later on July 17.
