"Glee" will have its final season premiere in January 2015, latest reports say. The show will have a two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, and will then shift to its standard slot at 9 p.m. every Friday for the rest of the season.

Reporting on the upcoming sixth season of "Glee," the Hollywood Reporter says it will last for 11 weeks and also have a two-hour finale episode, bringing the episode count to 13. The show is set to take the Friday slot previously occupied by the reality series "Utopia" which was cancelled by Fox. This slot is currently occupied by repeats of "Masterchef Junior" which have been airing since "Utopia" was removed.

Last June, it was announced that the sixth season of "Glee" will be its final, but this did not surprise many. The number of episodes was also trimmed to 13. For the first time in the show's history, it did not feature in Fox's fall programming schedule.

The show was last renewed for two seasons in 2013. Season 5 saw the unexpected death of one its stars, Cory Monteith, which boosted the ratings of the show temporarily. However, since then the ratings have fallen. It hit an all-time low during its fifth season which ultimately led to a cut in its 20-episode run.

During its sixth season, the show is expected to go through a creative revamp. Reports say the characters will be put through a so-called "time jump."

Focus will be shifted to original cast members including Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch) and Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). The show will see them "giving back" to the club. It also means that New York will no longer be a major part of the series since the show will be based in another location.
