Five months after the "Girl Meets World" season 3 production wrapped up, there remains no word from Disney Channel about a season 4 renewal.

In an interview with Teen.com, Sabrina Carpenter, who stars in the "Boy Meets World" spinoff as Maya Hart, spoke about the status of "Girl Meets World" season 4.

"No, we do not [have an update]. We have been so lucky to work on the show for the past three years and we don't know what's happening yet," the actress, who is currently on a tour for her album, "EVOLution," said. "But we've got amazing new episodes that are still airing and everyone so far has liked them so we're really lucky," she went on to say.

Disney is yet to give the green light to "Girl Meets World" season 4, which has many worried about the show's standing on the network.

So much that stars Rowan Blanchard, August Maturo and even Cheryl Texiera campaigned via Twitter for another year of the show.

"So important [for] our [generation] to be a voice of hope/change [and] learn from each other. Hoping we continue to have that chance," she tweeted with the hashtag #GirlMeetsWorldSeason4.

"This is a family. NO MATTER what, that will never change," Maturo captioned a photo of him with the cast, adding that there are so much more stories to tell in "Girl Meets World" season 4.

Their efforts pushed many fans to help save the series by sharing with Disney why "Girl Meets World" season 4 deserves to happen.

The silence of Disney and the cast members feeling the need to campaign for the show's renewal suggests that the network is looking to pull the plug on the series.

The final three episodes of the current season will air in January. Whether they will mark the last run of the entire series or not remains to be seen for now, but fans hope "Girl Meets World" season 4 will push through.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 returns with "World Meets Girl" on Friday, Jan. 6, on Disney Channel.
