'Girl Meets World' season 3 spoilers: Maya and Riley's friendship to be tested, fan-favorite Mr. Feeny to be back

Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Riley (Rowan Blanchard) on\"Girl Meets World\" season 3. | Disney Channel

Disney's "Girl Meets World" season 3 premiered early this year with a bang, and more interesting episodes are up ahead as Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and the gang try to fit in as high schoolers.

To recap, last week's episode saw Riley as she struggled with her academics and learned the value of maintaining her grades the hard way. After finding out that her school keeps a permanent record of her grades starting from her first year, she started to worry about her future. Riley's Spanish teacher Señora Feinstein-Chang helped her realize that one grade does not define her entire scholastic performance. As a result, she was motivated to study harder and scored higher on her other test. From having a D, she earned an A- for her Spanish test.

This week's episode will give Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) the chance of shining in her own spotlight, as her character will be the focus of the story. The official synopsis for this coming Friday's episode 5 titled, "Girl Meets Triangle" reads:

"Maya's identity crisis kicks into full gear when her art teacher makes her realize her friendship with Riley may be affecting her artist's voice."

Given the title, there is also a possibility that the episode will shed light on the love triangle involving Riley, Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and Maya. It has not been explored in the previous episodes, so fans expect to see if Lucas will pursue one of the girls.

Meanwhile, a fan-favorite character might be returning to the family sitcom: Mr. Feeny. The character's portrayer William Daniels announced it through his Twitter account, noting that fans might begin seeing him on the show sometime in August.

Keep tuning in to more new episodes of "Girl Meets World" season 3 which airs every Friday night at 8:30 p.m. EST on Disney.
