'Girl Meets World' season 3 episode 6 spoilers news: Shawn returns to propose to Katy; Maya and Riley travel outside New York

Fan-favorite character Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) will return in the upcoming episode of "Girl Meets World" season 3, and his comeback will definitely be a romantic one.

Next week's episode of the hit family sitcom will see a romantic proposal which might be emotional for fans, specially for those who have seen the original series "Boy Meets World."

According to E! News, Shawn will finally pop the question to his on-and-off love interest Katy (Cheryl Texiera). The heartfelt episode will see Shawn deciding that he does not want to spend the rest of his life alone. He wants to have a future with Katy and her daughter Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) as a family, so he asks Katy to be his wife. Shawn and Katy's relationship has been quite complicated, but he admits that his feelings for Katy are still the same. Cory (Ben Savage) later on accompanies his bestfriend to witness the most important event of his life.

Meanwhile, Riley and Maya's friendship will go through another rough patch when they go out of New York City. The previous episode saw Maya having second thoughts about her friendship with Riley which seemingly hinders her from finding her true artistic voice.

CarterMatt reports that the next episode might feature the ski lodge trip most fans are looking forward to. The two best friends will have time to reflect on their friendship, and hopefully, their issues will eventually be resolved.

For a preview on the upcoming storyline, the official synopsis for "Girl Meets Upstate" reads:

"Maya and Riley travel upstate to help Maya find her true artistic voice, but neglect to tell Cory and Topanga where they've gone."
