'Gears of War 4' release date: game to debut on Xbox One; multiplayer beta arrives in April 2016

Fans of "Gears of War" will have to wait just for a few more months as the fourth main installment of the game series is expected to be released this year. 'Games of War 4' will be packaged as an Xbox One game by Microsoft and is currently being developed by The Coalition.
It was previously reported by Gamespot that "Gears of War 4" was slated for a full release on the holiday season. However, during a livestream broadcast by The Coalition Studio Head Rod Fergusson and Lead Multiplayer Designer Ryan Cleve, it was revealed that game will be launced a little earlier than what was initially reported. Instead of launching the game on holiday, 'Gears of War 4' will be released this Fall.
Those excited to experience the latest 'Gears of War' game do not need to wait until Fall to test its features. A statement from The Coaliton's Community Director Adam Fletcher on the Xbox website revealed that the global Versus multiplayer beta version of 'Gears of War 4' will be released on April 18. Gamers can have a glimpse of its multiplayer design, as well as to help making a better multiplayer gaming experience by giving their insights and suggestions.
A first look at the cast and story of "Gears of War 4" on GamesInsider reveals that the game was set 25 years after the events of "Gears of War 3." It will also feature new characters, including the new hero of the game JD Fenix, son of 'Gears of War 3' protagonist and heroic war master, Marcus Fenix.
JD Fenix is played by Liam McIntyre, who also appeared in the first season of CW's "The Flash." "It's kind of terrifying, because I get to be the lead in a new era of Gears, which is unbelievable, amazing, and exciting. I'm the legacy, because my dad is Marcus Fenix. JD's a soldier and a bit of a freedom fighter, and in his heart he's a bit of a renegade. He's different from Marcus, but he's still that heroic archetype," McIntyre said as he described the role of JD.
In an interview with GamesInsider, Fergusson revealed that "Gears of War 4" will run at 1080p resolution and 30fps display design performance in campaign mode, while 60fps in multiplayer mode with resolution not disclosed.
