'Game of Thrones' season 7 release date, news and updates: Season preps for a massive battle scene

The sixth season of "Game of Thrones" will probably be most remembered for the massive "Battle of the Bastards" sequence, but rumor has it that the seventh season is planning a much larger fight this and this time around, it will include House Tarly.
In an exclusive report by Watchers on the Wall, the next season will supposedly see two strongholds of the Great Houses in the show. The show is said to be taking audiences to Highgarden and Casterly Rock. Highgarden is the home of the Tyrells, the heirs of which were killed by wildfire in season six. Casterly Rock is known as the home of the Lannisters.
The shoot is said to be utilizing 500 extras and 100 horses, which is slightly more than the "Battle of the Bastards" scene which needed 500 extras and 70 horses. The sequence is also said to need a month to shoot, and the extras will be undergoing military training for it.
The sequence is said to be an ambush setpiece, but it hasn't been made clear which locations will feature the ambush. After Cersei (Lena Headey) was crowned Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, it's possible that the enemy forces would want to attack the heart of the Lannister family. On the other hand, it looks like the Queen of Thorns Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) will be planning to get her revenge on Cersei, and Cersei might want to attack her where it hurts as well.
Actor James Faulkner who plays Lord Randyll Tarly in the show posted pictures of himself on set, so fans are sure that he will be going to battle in the next season. The Tarly house is known to be the strongest house sworn to the Tyrells, and their revered words are "First in Battle."
"Game of Thrones" season 7 is expected to air sometime next year.
