'Galactic Civilizations III' News, Release Date: 4X Strategy Game Drawing Positive Reviews

This week will see the release of "Galactic Civilizations III" for the PC. The upcoming game falls into the 4X strategy genre. Among other things, it provides gamers with an infinite number of choices when it comes to creating and deploying a Starfleet.
A 4X game is one in which players control an empire and "eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate."
The game, available via Steam Early Access since August of last year, has been receiving largely positive reviews from those who have played it.
The release of "Galactic Civilizations III" on May 14 is going to take place nine years after the previous game in the series landed.
With a few days to go until its release, the developer Stardock is still pushing out beta versions of the game. The latest was the 5.3 beta which includes a revamped A.I. along with pirate bases and overall improvements in the game's performance. The latest beta notes also pointed out that the developer was still fixing minor issues in the game and polishing others.
The game has been available at $50 on Steam since its launch via Early Access last year. Since then the developer has released a massive amount of content to flesh it out.
PC Gamer, which reviewed the game in its Early Access phase, noted that it looked promising and had all the necessary elements to give it a sturdy appearance. It also compared the game to the earlier versions of the Galactic Civilizations, saying the charm from the previous games was still evident.
When the game arrives this week, according to PC Gamer, it will feature "the largest and most diverse sandbox strategy" and give players the chance to explore the many paths available for them to emerge victorious.
The game will also feature rulers who use force to emerge victorious or create a society with superior cultural values and use it to attract other races.
The game is also going to feature massive mod support. Those with skills can add anything from new ships to new races.
