Samaritan's Purse CEO Franklin Graham is asking Christians to join him in prayer on Nov. 7, the eve of elections. This also happens to be the 98th birthday of his father, Billy Graham.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Franklin assured his followers that prayers to God can really make a difference. He cited several verses from the Bible that highlighted the effectiveness of prayer.

"The Bible tells us that 'The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much' (James 5:16). Jesus also tells us to 'keep asking' and gives us an example in a parable in Luke chapter 18 of a widow who repeatedly went to a judge asking for justice, and finally the judge responded because of her persistence," the younger Graham wrote.

Franklin mentioned that he had traveled to all 50 states and prayed with tens of thousands for the future of the U.S. He encouraged Christians to continue praying as election day draws near.

"The evening of November 7, on my father Billy Graham's 98th birthday and just before Election Day, will you join me and others across the country in praying? I will be LIVE right here on Facebook at 9:00 PM ET, so don't miss it. Let's bow together and again ask for God's help," he said.

Franklin concluded the Decision America tour on Oct. 13 in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he prayed with 14,000 people and led some of them at the rally to Christ.

The evangelist has not endorsed a presidential candidate and has repeatedly stated that there is no hope for both the Republican and Democratic parties. However, the younger Graham still encouraged Christians to vote so that their voices will be heard in the coming election.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association released the 2016 presidential election guide to highlight the differences between the platforms of the major political parties as well as their candidates.

The guide summarized the positions of the Republican and Democratic parties on several issues including the sanctity of life, marriage, religious freedom, immigration and terrorism.
