Fox News Host Megyn Kelly Mocks GOP Debate Demands
Fox News host Megyn Kelly has recently spoken out in criticism of 2016 GOP presidential hopefuls for releasing a recent list of demands regarding future presidential debates.
Kelly, who hosts Fox's "The Kelly File," criticized a recent letter signed by some of the GOP candidates that calls for certain demands to be meant regarding future debates for the 2016 presidency. The letter came about after a recent CNBC-moderated debate left several GOP candidates upset and caused the Republican National Committee to withdraw the upcoming GOP debate from the NBC network in February.
Several GOP candidates signed a letter this week calling for certain regulations for future GOP debates, including allotted time for opening and closing statements, fair question time, temperature of the venue and allowing the pre-approval of graphics.
While some GOP candidates did sign the letter, others, including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, and Ohio Governor John Kasich, refused.
"We are declining to sign the letter. We're happy the group decided to agree with us not alter the Fox debate. As the governor of Ohio, we are used to answering tough questions all the time," Kasich spokesperson Chris Schrimpf recently told Politico.
Fox News host Megyn Kelly also mocked the letter on her program, reading through the list of demands and responding: "Oh yea, that's gonna happen."
Kelly suggested another good recommendation for the list would be "Maybe like a foot massage?"
"Can you imagine having to submit our graphics for approval to the candidates?" Kelly continued, adding "good luck with that."
