Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is slamming reports that he was asked to call in a special favor for real estate mogul Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming Fox News GOP debate, hosted by Fox News correspondent Megyn Kelly.

New York magazine reported recently that Trump, who is running for the GOP presidential ticket, reportedly asked Giuliani to contact Fox News Channel CEO Roger Ailes and ask him to ensure that Trump would not be targeted for his views during the upcoming debate, hosted by Kelly and set to take place on Thursday on the Fox News network.

Giuliani's camp has since slammed the report, with the former mayor telling the New York Daily News that the request for a favor is "categorically, absolutely, one million percent false."

"We've talked about the campaign and what New Hampshire is like and what Iowa is like, but we've never talked about the debate — not even once," Giuliani continued, adding "He's never asked me to make a call to Roger — and I haven't."

Kelly recently told USA Today that she is looking forward to questioning Trump and the other GOP hopefuls during Thursday's debate.

"Trump is going to be front and center," Kelly told the media outlet recently. "Good or bad, he's fascinating. He's going to drive huge eyeballs to the debate. He's a true celebrity. He commands an audience, for whatever reason. He's interesting. He just is. Trump may be peaking early. Or it may be the beginning of something unstoppable."
