Fla. Sen. Marco Rubio Says Planned Parenthood Leans Toward Abortion Over Other Healthcare Options

2016 presidential hopeful Marco Rubio spoke out against the Planned Parenthood abortion provider this week, arguing that the national organization encourages women to choose abortion over life.
Rubio, a Florida senator, made his recent comments while appearing on a local Iowa radio station, suggesting that there should be a federal investigation into the workings of Planned Parenthood. The abortion provider received recent criticism after a series of undercover videos showed executives with the organization discussing the costs surrounding the procurement of aborted fetal tissue.
"Planned Parenthood has been exposed for the trafficking of human fetal tissue," Rubio told the KCII 8 radio station in Des Moines.
The senator added that the U.S. Justice Department needs to carry out a federal investigation of the abortion provider.
Rubio went on to argue that the federal funding provided to Planned Parenthood should instead be directed toward healthcare providers that provide more health services to women, instead of having their main focus be abortion procedures.
The Florida senator argued that Planned Parenthood pushes women to have an abortion instead of pursuing other options.
"If you go to one of these centers young women are provided very few options," Rubio told the radio station. "In many places they're not told anything about, for example, adoption services that might be available to them. In essence, you come in and it's already predetermined. This is the direction, this is what this place does. It provides abortions, and we are going to channel you in that direction."
