'Final Fantasy XV' release date news 2016: Game director to provide solid details at E3?

"Final Fantasy" is one of the most popular video game series in history. According to reports, game developer Square Enix is planning to provide more concrete details about the upcoming "Final Fantasy XV" at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, which is scheduled to kick off on June 14.

The company has also revealed few details about the upcoming title during a video broadcast last weekend. Hajime Tabata, "Final Fantasy XV" director, said that they are excited about the launching of the action role-playing fantasy-adventure video game in September.

Tabata explained that players should not expect to just roam around anywhere they want on the expanded open world aspect of the upcoming title. Apparently, not all locations are available for explorations once the video game hits the market. Nonetheless, locations that are prohibited will gradually be available as the story of the game moves along.

The game director was a bit reserved in providing solid details about "Final Fantasy XV." The company appears to be saving the best for E3.

Meanwhile, the goal of Square Enix is to target new players to support the game. That is why they created the mobile game, "Justice Monsters Five," and the anime series, "Brotherhood," to get new gamers interested in the upcoming "Final Fantasy XV." Apparently, that is the strategy of the company to make sure they do not experience a commercial failure once the new game hits the shelves.

"It's one way for us to get new people interested in the series who have never really been familiar with the Final Fantasy franchise," Tabata said during an interview. "It's also a way to get former fans who may have [moved] away from the franchise in the past couple of years [and bring them back]."

The fifteenth installment of the "Final Fantasy" series is expected to come out on Sept. 30, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
