'Final Fantasy VII Remake' release date, new characters rumors: Game will be action-oriented with spin-off characters?

The upcoming release of the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" is putting many fans on their heels. They are anxiously waiting for game developer Square Enix to provide further details with regard to its gameplay and specific release date. It has been a favorite subject of numerous rumors over the internet and the latest buzz suggests that the title will be more action-oriented.
During his interview with Game Informer, Yoshinori Kitase of Square Enix said that the company is working pretty hard to provide a better installment this time.
"My team and I were mainly focused on that project. Final Fantasy VII Remake would be an equivalent – or even greater – project in terms of scale, and so it would have been hard to do both at the same time," the game producer said. "After XIII ended, of course XV is currently being developed by [Hajime] Tabata-san's team, so it presented a time when we can fully place our focus on the Final Fantasy VII Remake."
Kitase also said that they already decided on how many installments they are going to make as far as the future of the franchise is concerned.
"We do have an idea on the project side in terms of how many installments it may consist of, but unfortunately, we can't share that at the moment," Kitase added.
Nonetheless, he admitted that all plans could change in the future.
Meanwhile, numerous reports about the Square Enix adding spinoff characters to the game have already hit the Internet rumor mill. However, the company did not elaborate on the on that and Kitase said that adding "characters from the spinoffs or other "Compilation" is always a possibility.
"Final Fantasy VII Remake" is currently being developed for PlayStation 4 platform. The game developer has yet to provide specific details with regard to its release but fans are hoping that the company decides to release it before 2016 ends.
