For the 30th anniversary of the "Final Fantasy" franchise to be held next year, the latest in the series, "Final Fantasy 15," is getting downloadable content (DLC) packs and patches.

This was revealed by Square Enix Producer and overall "Final Fantasy" chief Shinji Hashimoto during an interview with Famitsu, in which he provided details about the company's plan for the coming year.

He did not go into detail about the DLCs though, but Hashimoto also promised that specific details about the actual "Final Fantasy" 30th-anniversary celebration, to be held on Dec. 18, 2017, will be announced soon.

By that time, many "Final Fantasy 15" DLCs would have been made available. Square Enix has big plans for post-launch support, which were detailed in a blog post by game director Hajime Tabata recently.

"We want you to enjoy Final Fantasy XV for a long time to come," he said. "We have been listening to your ideas on how to make the game experience even better, and so in addition to the previously announced content, we'll be providing free updates to the game throughout the coming year," he went on to say.

This comes from the overwhelmingly positive reception for "Final Fantasy 15." He did not go into detail on these free updates, but it looks like fans will get a lot in the future.

The first DLC coming to "Final Fantasy 15" is the Holiday Pack, which will introduce the New Game Plus feature, which should allow players to start a new game after finishing one while keeping certain abilities or rare items from the previous one.

The Mystery Disc DLC is also coming. This will make Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda a boss in a battle. The idea came up after the demand that came from seeing a villain in the likeness of the Square Enix executive in action in a Famitsu livestream.
