'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 spoilers: New family to be introduced, Nick's character development

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 premiered recently, and it seems like the survivors are left with no place to go. As it turned out, the water is not safe from walkers, and the survivors learned it the hard way.
Executive producer Dave Erickson sat down in an interview with Yahoo TV where he discussed this season's recently released pilot, as well as details on the future episodes fans should anticipate.
When asked where the season will go, the showrunner said that the characters will be moving forward. Specifically talking about Nick and his development throughout the series, Erickson said: "He approaches the infected in a much different way. He's the first person who says, 'They're dead,' back in the third episode of Season 1, and he goes through an evolution. I think his survival, his realization that the world has gone to s***, and it's a world he knows — there's a shift for him. I think he starts to ask himself when so many have died, when Gloria has died, Calvin, Griselda, Liza, Matt, and he has not, and he's someone who should have died a hundred times over, why is he still there? What is this new world, and what is his place in it? I do think innately he feels like he can function. Whatever it was that Strand saw in him last season I think is valid. I think we'll start to see that manifest."
Meanwhile, the synopsis for episode 2 has been released via IBT. Titled "We All Fall Down," the group will chance upon a family of survival experts, who have a great set of skills to be able to survive the apocalypse. However, once they all see that the ocean is not safe to be in, the new family shows their true colors.
The second episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 2 will air on AMC this coming Sunday, April 17, at 9 p.m. EDT.
