'Fast 8' news: Scott Eastwood speaks on The Rock and Vin Diesel's on-set friction

After an on-set friction involving "Fast 8" stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel blew up in social media, their co-star Scott Eastwood recently gave his take on the issue.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said he had fun doing the film and was not aware of any feud between the two actors. "I had a great time working on the film," the 30-year-old said. "I don't know anything about that stuff." He even described their usual filming days as a big backyard party, with all the cast members including Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris.
"We had barbecues, like, every day on set. Tyrese would put on barbecues for everybody," the son of Clint Eastwood added. "We'd go run out and shoot a scene and come back and listen to music and eat grilled chicken."
For those not on the loop, Johnson started a social media firestorm when he posted a rant via Instagram earlier in August. He called out an unnamed "Fast 8" co-star, saying how the mystery cast member is a "candy ass" and "chickens--t" for allegedly being unprofessional while on set. Although the professional wrestler did not specify the person he was pertaining to, TMZ pointed out Diesel was the target of his rant.
The actor/producer later posted a clip via Instagram as well, seemingly as a reply to Johnson's message. Diesel mentioned how happy he was to be home after wrapping up two films, and assured fans he will reveal more once his work on "Fast 8" is done. "So give me a second and I will tell you everything. Everything," he said in the video.
Aside from Eastwood, Statham previously shared his opinion on the behind-the-scene shakeup in an interview with People magazine. "I stay out of any bickering or any troubles that people have," he said. "I have nothing to do with it and I don't want any part of it." He further added that Johnson is "his own man" which makes him entitled to what he wants to say.
"Fast 8" premieres on April 17, 2017.
