Emmy-winning FX series "Fargo" will premiere sometime around next year, and a new cast member has been confirmed. Ewan McGregor will portray two lead roles in the show, and he will give life to brothers Ray and Emmit Stussy.

As noted by Deadline, Emmit Stussy is dubbed as the "Parking Lot King of Minnesota." He is a self-made real estate mogul by profession, handsome, and a family man. He sees his life as a perfect example of an American success story.

On the other hand, his younger brother seems to be the opposite. Ray Stussy is described as "balding and pot-bellied," and "the kind of guy who peaked in high school. " He works as a parole office, and he is unsatisfied with his life. He believes Emmit is responsible for all his misfortunes.

McGregor is the first actor to be confirmed in season 3, and the other cast members are expected to be revealed before the show begins production in the latter part of the year.

For the uninitiated, "Fargo" is a black comedy crime anthology series inspired by the late '90s film of the same title directed by the Coen brothers. Billie Bob Thornton headlined the pilot season of the series while Patrick Wilson and Kirsten Dunst were the lead stars in season 2.

In an interview with Variety last December, creator Noah Hawley teased that the upcoming season is "more contemporary" which makes it "interesting."

Hawley explained the questions they had in mind when planning for season 3, saying, "In the third year the question becomes, structurally and stylistically: What's left to say? What do we do that feels similar but different so we're not repeating ourselves? We're always looking for connections and things that fit into the larger body of work we're building, hopefully without ever seeming twee or precious or too clever by far."

FX has yet to announce the official release date for "Fargo" season 3, but the show will reportedly return to the small screen earlier than the two previous installments.
