'Fallout 4' PS4 mods release date, news: 1.8 update posts limitations on modding experience on console

Bethesda's "Fallout 4" is already out in the open and both PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One fans have all been clamoring to optimize their experience on the blockbuster release — the joy of modding in their games. Not so long after, the game developer has surprised its gamers at it has launched patch 1.8 to both consoles, much to everyone's delight.
Furthermore, GameSpot has shared that the mods for the PS4 games such as "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim: Special Edition" are now possible as a result of a friendly agreement between Sony and Bethesda Studios. And as the new patch has already been released, the update is now open for criticism and interpretation that are expected to be addressed once the upcoming patch rolls out again.
One of the criticisms which are hurled at the latest patch is its limitations that hinder the "maximum modding" experience on PS4. Neowin has noted that some of these limitations involve the usage of in-game assets only. Meanwhile, the modding experience for both PC and Xbox One platforms have been different as the consoles are enabled to allow third-party assets in creating "Fallout 4" mods.
PlayStation 4's file size allowance has also made it worse when it comes to the use of in-game assets. Notably, PS4's "Fallout 4" mods will only be limited to 1GB in size, rendering it to be 50% smaller than that of Xbox One file size allowance. Numerically, that only gives PS4 mods for "Fallout 4" to 50% of Xbox One's over 4,381 mods. On the other hand, the PC platform currently hosts 3,177 mods.
Released globally for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 10, 2015, "Fallout 4" serves as the fifth major installment in the "Fallout" series. Notably, the game has shipped 12 million units within its 24-hours of release.
