'Empire' season 3 episode 7 spoilers, news: Cookie hosts dinner to win round Angelo's mother; cast welcomes Rumer Willis

Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) throws a dinner party in the upcoming episode of Fox's hit musical drama "Empire" season 3.
Titled "What We May Be," the show's seventh episode will highlight Cookie's past and present. According to the official synopsis for episode 7, Cookie asks her sister Candace (Vivica A. Fox) for tips on how to plan an elaborate family dinner in an effort to impress Angelo's (Taye Diggs) mother, Diane (guest star Phylicia Rashad). Meanwhile, Cookie will discover old home videos that force her to face secrets about her relationship with her father that she had tried to keep from her children. Additionally, Andre organizes an unlikely duet involving two Empire artists.
On another note, a new face will be joining the show's third season. Rumer Willis has been tapped for a recurring role as Tory Ash, a brilliant but unpredictable singer/songwriter. Despite her musical prowess, her talent seems invaluable to Jamal (Jussie Smollett)as he works on his most important musical project yet. Her unwillingness to stay away from controversy and her decision to make a crossover comeback will eventually have a ripple effect throughout Empire. Willis joins the lineup of other notable guest stars this season including Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs, Birdman and French Montana.
Aside from being a singer, Willis is best known as a second-generation actress because she is the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. Her talent goes beyond acting and singing as she is also a dancer, winning ABC's celebrity dance competition "Dancing with the Stars." After her TV stint, Willis will next be seen as the lead actress in an indie film titled "Hello Again" opposite Audra McDonal and in a thriller movie titled "What Lies Ahead."
"Empire" season 3 airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
