'Elementary' season 5 episode 7 synopsis: Sherlock and Joan investigate base jumper murder

In the upcoming episode of "Elementary," CBS' TV adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's mystery novels, detectives Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan (Lucy Liu) will be looking for two possible murderers of a base jumper.

A teaser for episode 7 season 5 of "Elementary," titled "Bang Bang Shoot Chute," showed the detectives investigating the murder of a base jumper. As revealed in the clip, the base jumper was shot to death midjump. Upon investigating the case, Joan hypothesized that the murder was committed by two different people.

"He wasn't just shot. His parachute was sabotaged," Sherlock's trusted partner can be heard saying in the episode preview.

Based on the teaser, the team has narrowed down the suspects to four people: the base jumper's wife, sister, skydiving partner and the pilot of his plane.

In the upcoming episode, Joan will double her efforts to make sure that Shinwell (Nelson Ellis) will not revert to his old ways, especially when her sister Lin (Samantha Quan) spots Shinwell (Nelson Ellis) hanging out with his former gang members.

Last month, the official Twitter page for "Elementary" gave fans a heads-up on episode 7 of season 5. The production team confirmed that the actress will be reprising her role for the episode. They tweeted, "We'll see Lin in 507." Quan made her debut in the series season 4 episodes 19. She also appeared in the following episode of the season.

Fans can expect the regular cast members to appear in the upcoming episode. Meanwhile, the guest stars that will be featured in episode 7 include Laura Heisler (as Roz Nealy), Anna Khaja (as Nazria Durrani), Ishmail Bashey (as Quadir Durrani), Quincy Dunn-Baker (as Mark Trenchman), Dan Ziskie (as Gordie Kasdan) and more.

Viewers can catch "Elementary" season 5 episode 7 on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 10:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
