'Elder Scrolls 6' release date news 2016: 'Skyrim' creator Todd Howard confirms 'Elder Scrolls 6'
Fans of Bethesda Game Studios' action role-playing open world video game series "The Elder Scrolls" are still waiting for the sixth installment of the series. Though the development of the game has been confirmed by "The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" creator Todd Howard, it is reportedly not one of the studios' main priorities at the moment.
In an interview with Glixel, Howard confirmed that the game is being developed but it is "not what you would call a big, active project right now." He also mentioned that the company has a few more pending projects, before adding, "We know ['The Elder Scrolls' is] important to our fans, and we need to be careful about setting expectations. It's certainly a game that we'll be making one day. I could sit here and explain to you exactly what we want it to be."

Aside from confirming the game's status, the creator expressed how he favors the latest Nintendo Switch console, which he was able to test at the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo, held on June 14-16. He believes that the Nintendo Switch console is going to be one of the gaming platforms that will be able to support "The Elder Scrolls 6."
Howard assured gamers that the upcoming title will be made available on the latest gaming device by Nintendo. It will be the first time in a long time for the studio to team up with Nintendo.
Like the rest of the gaming industry, Howard is impressed with the console and its features. The video game creator also teased that the studio might partner with Nintendo to create a new game.
Bethesda has yet to announce the release date for "The Elder Scrolls 6," but it is expected to launch quite soon.
