'Elder Scrolls 6' release date news 2016: Game to continue 'Skyrim' story?

Bethesda is reported to attend the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that will be held from June 14 to 16, and rumors have started circulating the Internet that one of the reasons the game developer company will be on the event is to announce their upcoming video game projects- one of those is the anticipated sixth installment of "Elder Scrolls," which is also currently dubbed as "Skyrim 2."

The rumor of "Elder Scrolls 6" sparked when Bethesda's vice president for public relations and marketing Pete Hines said in an interview with the Telegraph that the video game is actually under development by their team.

"It's rare to have franchises like the ones we have and to have people joking about 'when is Skyrim 2 coming out?' The reason they say that is because generally speaking that's what you'd be getting with another publisher in charge. They'd be spitting out a Skyrim 2 the year after or two years later. That's just not how we view it. We're not the sort of publisher that focuses on 'what's our 25 titles for 2015.'" Hines revealed.

It can be noticed that Hines mentioned about "Skyrim" as reference to the next "Elder Scrolls" video game, implying that the next installment might still have a lot to do with Skyrim like in "Elder Scrolls 5." As mentioned in Crossmap, the rumors that "Elder Scrolls 6" will be based on Morrowind or Oblivion have been debunked. However, there could still be a chance that the follow-up to "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" will have a different subject as there are other sound rumors that the sixth "Elder Scrolls" is about Argonia.

However, with regards to when "Elder Scrolls 6" will be done for release, it may take some time, or years to be specific, for "Elder Scrolls" fans to experience the next chapter of the popular video game. As revealed in the recent interview of Hines with DualShockers at the GamesCom 2015, people will not be hearing of "Elder Scrolls 6" anytime in the near future. He reasoned out that Bethesda was still working on their other hit video game installment at that time, which was "Fallout 4," and the studio could not risk doing two different big projects at the same time.
