Stars of the A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty" recently visited a hospital near West Monroe, Louisiana to cheer up an ailing fan.

Miss Kay, the matriarch of the reality show, accompanied another character from the show, John Godwin, to visit Don Alvey, a leukemia patient currently staying at the local Glenwood Regional Medical Center near West Monroe, Louisiana.

Alvey and his wife, Judy, had been seeking medical treatment at a hospital in Houston and were driving back to their home in Paducah, Kentucky when they decided to stop in West Monroe, Louisiana to see some of the sights shown on their favorite show, "Duck Dynasty."

"On the way home, he wanted to come by West Monroe, Louisiana, to see where 'Duck Dynasty' is done," Judy Alvey told The Monroe News Star.

Unfortunately, during their visit Alvey suffered a heart attack as he and his wife dined at a local restaurant in West Monroe, and the "Duck Dynasty" fan was transported to the local hospital for recovery. While staying in the hospital, Alvey was visited by the show's Miss Kay and Godwin, who reportedly offered moral support to the ailing fan.

The stars of "Duck Dynasty" have been known to surprise those suffering from cancer or other life-threatening diseases. Back in February, the show's Justin Martin collaborated with the Make-A-Wish foundation to surprise 10-year-old Zoe Kerly of Jonesboro, Arkansas with a special video and "Duck Dynasty" room makeover. Kerly suffers from a rare disease known as pulmonary hypertension.

"This is her Make-A-Wish," Zoe's mom previously said of the "Duck Dynasty" gift, adding: "but it affects all of us who have loved and watched her go through this. We get to watch just happiness."
