'Duck Dynasty' Cousin Fundraises Most Money In Louisiana Congressional Race

Zach Dasher, a cousin to the Robertson family of "Duck Dynasty" fame, is reportedly leading in fundraising among Republican competitors for Louisiana's 5th district congressional race.
Dasher, a 36-year-old pharmaceutical representative from Calhoun, is racing against two other Republicans for the 5th District seat that is currently occupied by Rep. Vance McAllister, who was embroiled in a nationalized cheating scandal with one of his female staffers earlier this year.
A pre-primary fundraising report filed with the Federal Elections Commission over the weekend reveals that Dasher has raised the most money for his campaign compared to his competitors. According to the Shreveport Times, Dasher reportedly raised $264,765, while opponent Harris Brown raised $261,150 and Dr. Ralph Abraham raised $200,503.
McAllister, although he continues to lead the polls ahead of the Nov. 4 election, has raised the least amount of money compared to his competitors. The Republican congressman reportedly raised only $1,100 during the pre-primary fundraising period, although the politician has said he plans to use much of his own money to fund his reelection campaign.
Dasher is suspected to get the sponsorship of his celebrity cousins, the Robertson family from the A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty." Previously, the Robertson family had sponsored McAllister during his race, but the congressman has said he does not fault the famous family for choosing to support their relative this time around.
Of McAllister's alleged adultery scandal, Dasher, who is running on a conservative platform, said: "What someone does in terms of moral lapses; that's between them, God and their family."
