Duck Commander Brand To Release Spice Flavors With Tennessee Company

The Robertson family behind the hit A&E show "Duck Dynasty" has recently made a business deal with a Tennessee-based spice company to produce multiple new spice flavors bearing the "Duck Commander" logo.
The business deal was announced this week by McKinley Thomason, president of the Nashville-based company The Doug Jeffords Company, which has reportedly been producing spices for the past 50 years. According to The Tennessean, the spice company will collaborate with the Robertson family to produce a blackened seasoning and a Cajun seasoning, and then work on more flavors from there. Each of the Robertson family's spices will include the name "Duck Commander Family Foods."
"We're very excited about it," Thomason told The Tennessean. "We think it has a lot of potential."
The spices are set to hit retail stores like Wal-Mart in the next 90 days, and the Duck Commander brand will receive a royalty for each bottle sold.
Since A&E premiered its first "Duck Dynasty" reality show episode in 2012, the Duck Commander brand has grown into a full-blown enterprise that sells everything from hunting gear to fashion accessories to cookbooks. Willie Robertson, CEO of the Duck Commander brand, recently announced that he has been working on producing a Duck Commander hot sauce that would bear a resemblance to the classic hot sauce found in Louisiana, often consumed with rice and red beans and other creole-themed food.
"(Original) Louisiana Hot Sauce is my favorite," Robertson told WWL-TV in a recent interview. "I can't eat red beans and rice without it, and I always put it on my eggs."
