In comparing the Motorola Droid Turbo with the HTC One (M8), one easily notices that the device from Motorola is sturdy and powerful while its competitor is classy and graceful.

Design

Motorola provided its Droid Turbo with a plastic frame, square corners and a back panel that either has ballistic nylon or Kevlar. Compared to this, the One (M8) has a premium metal unibody frame with a brushed finish, graceful rounded edges, and great sound emanating from its BoomSound speakers.

Display

The Droid Turbo has a Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. The One (M8) has a Super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441pixels per inch.

Platforms

Both devices come with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and can be upgraded to the latest 5.0 Lollipop version. The One (M8) has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, Quad-core 2.3 GHz CPU in the US and EMEA and Adreno 330 GPU. As for the Droid Turbo, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

In terms of RAM, the One (M8) has 2 GB while the Droid Turbo has 3 GB. However, the One (M8) has a memory card slot which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB, while the Droid Turbo does not have this feature.

Battery

The battery on the Droid Turbo is non-removable 3900 mAh version while the One (M8) has a much smaller 2600 mAh version.

Camera

HTC provided the One (M8) with a dual lens 4 Ultra pixel main camera while the Droid Turbo has a 21 megapixel version.

Price

The Droid Turbo and the HTC One (M8) are similarly priced at $199 with a two-year contract.
