Dragon Ball Xenoverse is an upcoming video game based on the popular Dragon Ball media franchise, and specifically developed for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game is also officially called the Dragon Ball XV. It will be the first Dragon Ball game released on the eighth generation consoles as well as PC.

The game was announced last June 10, 2014 and was previously called the Dragon Ball New Project.

The product details read, "FIERCE BATTLES OF GOKU AND OTHERS WILL BE REBORN! For the first time ever, the Dragon Ball® universe will be depicted onto the new generation systems and will fully benefit from the most powerful consoles ever created. DRAGON BALL® XENOVERSE will bring all the frenzied battles between Goku and his most fierce enemies, such as Vegeta, Frieza, Cell and much more, with new gameplay design! DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE will take the beloved universe from series' creator Akira Toriyama by storm and break tradition with a new world setup, a mysterious city and other amazing features to be announced in the future! But a question remains; an unknown fighter appears... Who is he?!

The game will feature 24 different maps, as reported in the Dragon Ball Wikia. Some of the maps include the Rocky Area, Cell Games Area, Planet Nemak, Time Storage Vault, Sacred World of the Kais, Toki Toki City, Kami's Lookout and World Martial Arts Tournament.

It will have a maximum of 126 playable characters, which include Goku, Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan, Goten, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Kid Trunks and Piccolo among many others.

Dragon Ball Wikia also described the gameplay: "Battles are set in full 3D destructible environments. Fighters can traverse the levels free-roaming in very large spaces and can be fighting on a platform, go in the air, and fight underwater. They run when on the ground, and swim while underwater. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse has dialogue while fights go on, and fighters show facial expressions when they strike an opponent or take damage."
