'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' release date news: To be launched this Winter; Sequel exclusive for PlayStation 4 in Japan

It was announced by Bandai Namco earlier that they are planning to release the latest sequel to the highly popular video game "Dragon Ball Xenoverse." The first game based on the hit anime series created by Akira Toriyama has sold a lot of copies worldwide and it is not a surprise that the game studio owning the title decides to go on with a sequel. Although the release date of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" was sketchy for the past few months, it was finally confirmed that the game will be out by the winter this year.

The Weekly Shonen Jump revealed in its latest issue that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will hit the Japanese markets sometime in winter. The latest magazine issue was reported by Anime News Network, and as the report suggests, fans will not have to wait until next year to experience the new game. However, it is only Japan that was confirmed to get the first experience of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." There have been no reports regarding the release of the video game elsewhere in the globe, including North America.

However, iDigital Times noted that the first "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" video game was first released in Japan on February 5 last year. While the rest of the world, including the United States and other North American countries received the game on Feb. 24. Considering that it only took a few weeks for the worldwide launching of the game to happen after the Japanese release, it can be expected that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will also be out in the markets worldwide by winter.

Bandai Namco released the trailer of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" and revealed that the game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. However, as reported by Gear Nuke, the anticipated launching of the game in Japan this winter will only be exclusive to PlayStation 4 users. There are no words for the mean time regarding the release of the game in Xbox One.
