'Dragon Ball Super' updates, spoilers news: New villain will be an evil Son Goku? Future Trunk's appearance likely
The action-packed inter-universe tournament between the best fighters from Universe 6 and Universe 7 has finally concluded in Akira Toriyama's popular anime series "Dragon Ball Super." As seen in the recent episodes, the Universe 7 group reigned victorious in the tournament, in which Son Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Majin Buu were included. As the Z fighters return to Earth with everything else seeming quiet, and the unruly God of Destruction Beerus looking to be in his best behavior rowdy, the fans are now waiting for a potential powerful villain appearing in the near future.

The latest rumors suggest that the next villainous character to be introduced in the series will be a familiar face. The rumored villain is said to be Son Goku himself, although he will be the evil version of Goku that the fans have known for several years. As the series already introduced the concept of multiple universe, it can be expected that there is one version of an already existing person in one galaxy which may or may not possess the same characteristics of his counterpart. According to a report from the Anime News Network, Toriyama teased that the next big bad of "Dragon Ball Super" may be a malevolent and powerful Saiyan warrior and he will be Goku's evil doppelganger. The report also described the potential villain as the "Black Goku."
According to the reports, the evil alternate version of Goku will ignite a battle than will break the barriers of time and space, meaning that the power level of the character will be something intense. The arc of the "Black Goku" is said to involve the strongest fighters of "Dragon Ball Super", including Beerus and his twin brother, Champa.
Meanwhile, Toriyama also teased in a separate occasion that a popular future-based character will make an appearance in one of the future episodes of "Dragon Ball Super," and he will be none other than Future Trunks.
Future Trunks was already featured in Toriyama's previous work, "Dragon Ball Z," where he traveled back to the past to warn Goku and the rest of the Z fighters regarding the onslaught of the powerful androids created by Dr. Jero. This time in "Dragon Ball Super," Future Trunks might once again visit his friends from the past to warn them of another threat. The new arc where Future Trunks will be featured is going to be put together by Toriyama based on the recommendation from the editorial office and it will be written into separate episodes, Otaku Kart reported.
