According to  reports, Funimation recently unveiled the voice cast for the English dub, which includes returning voice actors from other "Dragon Ball" installments: Seán Schemmel as Goku, Christopher R. Sabat as Vegeta, Jason Douglas as Beerus, Ian Sinclair as Whis, and Sonny Strait as Krillin.

"Dragon Ball Super" is known for being the series' first new storyline in 18 years. Series creator Akira Toyama is currently overseeing the show, which continues to follow Goku as he tries to maintain peace after his huge fight against Majin Buu. The program first aired in Japan in July 2015 and made its Western debut on several anime streaming websites this year. In addition, the hit anime is streaming on Daisuki, Crunchyroll, and FunimationNow, with new simulcast episodes airing Saturdays.

The story picks up with the Z-fighters returning to their normal lives following an epic battle with Majin Buu. Everything seems to go well, but the story takes a different turn when Lord Beerus, the powerful god of destruction, discovers a prophecy that tells of his death that will be caused by an even stronger being. In an attempt to kill this new threat, Lord Beerus travels to Earth to find the Saiyan God, and the Z-fighters are forced to battle it out with their most powerful opponent yet.

The English-dubbed version of "Dragon Ball Super" season 1 premieres on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 8 p.m. ET on Toonami.
