In "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 36 called "An Unexpectedly Tricky Opponent!? Vegeta's Explosion of Rage!" Vegeta will have to continue the intense head-to-head battle while an additional rule in the game will keep him in a close range battle.

In the last episode of "Dragon Ball Super," we saw how Vegeta exacted revenge on the cunning space fighter named Frost and put the latter in his place with just a single blow. It can be recalled that Frost resorted to cheating in his previous fights with Son Goku and Picollo with the use of a poison to make his opponents weaker. However, it was not the same case with Vegeta as the Saiyan prince did not take long to put down Frost. It seemed to be a quick but satisfying bout for Vegeta until a new rule in the tournament was introduced by Champa after the previous bout.  This new rule is about the "out of balance" loss that when  a fighter touches the barrier of the fighting arena even while fighting midair, he automatically loses.

As it appeared in Episode 35, Vegetta had to take down his next opponent which is the metallic fighter, Magetta. Setting aside the fact that Magetta can have lava burst out of his mouth, it was initially another easy match for Vegeta until the Saiyan realized the difficulty of the situation, especially with the barrier cube threatening to oust him in the game with just one wrong move. Magetta had his way to corner Vegetta and made it harder for the latter to throw punches. Vegeta couldn't even mind his defense properly as Magetta would easily push him towards the barrier. At the end of this episode, Vegeta decided to transfom into a super saiyan.

According to BREATHEcast, the moment Vegeta powered up a powerful final blow off the hook, Magetta also prepared his magma charge off his mouth. The trailer for the next episode shows Vegeta's power beam and Magetta's lava spit colliding in midair.

However, it looks like Vegeta will advance to the next battle, presumably defeating Magetta in the tricky battle even with the new barrier rule. His next opponent will be Cabba, a unique Saiyan from another universe. Although he knew Vegeta has the ability to transform into a golden-haired Super Saiyan, Cabba seems to remain calm and confident that he will defeat his opponent without being in Super Saiyan mode. In fact, Cabba doesn't have the ability to become a Super Saiyan. Can Cabba really match Vegeta's power as an ordinary Saiyan? Will the new tournament rule be carried out in the succeeding fights, or is it just a sneaky temporary rule to lower the chance of Vegeta winning over Magetta?
