'Downton Abbey' Spoilers, Plot Recap: Violet Discovers Mary's Secret

Violet (Maggie Smith) was the focus of attention in the recently concluded episode of "Downton Abbey" which aired at 9 p.m. ET on PBS, as she discovered that Mary (Michelle Dockery) was having an affair with Tony Gillingham (Tom Cullen).
However, there were also hints that Violet might have had an affair with a Russian nobleman during her visit to Russia.
The episode kicked off with Mary and Tony in bed after which he asked her to marry him, but she seemed reluctant. Soon afterwards the pair was spotted kissing outside the hotel by Violet's butler Spratt (Jeremy Swift), who promptly informed Violet.
However, Violet made an excuse for Mary and Tony, saying she knew they were attending a conference for land owners.
Mary returned and asked Anna (Joanne Froggatt) to hide the contraceptive tablets and informed her that no date for the wedding with Tony had been set. Soon afterwards Violet summoned Mary and asked her how Tony was able to seduce her. When Mary denied any seduction took place, Violet was mortified and encouraged her to get married to Tony as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) visited London along with Simon Bricker (Richard E. Grant) to look at works done by Piero della Francesca, and they then had dinner together. But when she arrived home, she found Robert (Hugh Bonneville) waiting for her and he was infuriated to learn that Bricker found her views interesting and she had dinner with him.
Baxter (Raquel Cassidy) then confessed to Cora how she stole the jewelry in her last job. But Cora allowed her to stay on in her job.
The episode ended with Tim's (Andrew Scarborough) wife again getting cross with Edith's (Laura Carmichael) as she thought she had run away with Marigold.
Then there was a tea party in which Violet came face to face with Prince Kuragin (Rade Sherbedgia) who is now a refugee from Russia. His appearance shocked Violet which caused Mary and Isobel (Penelope Wilton) to infer that she might have had a secret dalliance with him.
