Donald Trump Says Ben Carson Would Not Be Good at Creating Jobs as President
2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump has gone after fellow presidential hopeful Ben Carson, arguing that Carson's former profession as a neurosurgeon did not provide jobs for Americans in the way Trump's profession as a real estate mogul does.
Trump said in a recent interview that if Carson became president, "I think it's a very difficult situation that he'd be placed in."
"He's really a friend of mine, I just think it's a very difficult situation that he puts himself into, to have a doctor who wasn't creating jobs and would have a nurse or maybe two nurses. It's such a different world. I've created tens of thousands of jobs over the years," Trump added.
Trump's comments came shortly before the real estate mogul said in an interview with MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he is not planning to attack Carson yet.
"Well, I'm much better as a counterpuncher, so I'd rather have, and I'm hoping for Ben to really hit me at some point, because I love to counterpunch," Trump told the morning program, adding that Carson has "been very nice to me, he's actually a really nice guy."
Trump added "[…] I think I'm probably going to wait," Trump said. "I do have certain things to say, but I'm not going to be saying them for a little while. Let's see what happens."
Both Trump and Carson are vying for the 2016 presidential ticket, and are expected to both appear for the second GOP debate of the season, to be hosted by CNN on September 16.
