Christian best-selling author Max Lucado has finally broken his silence on politics and expressed his negative opinion on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign.

In a blog entry titled "Decency for President," Max Lucado penned his condemnation for Donald Trump's campaign practices and controversial comments. The Christian author said the billionaire's behavior is unacceptable and should not be allowed to take place in the Oval Office.

"I don't know Mr. Trump. But I've been chagrined at his antics. He ridiculed a war hero. He made mockery of a reporter's menstrual cycle. He made fun of a disabled reporter," said Lucado in his blog. "... These were not off-line, backstage, overheard, not-to-be-repeated comments. They were publicly and intentionally tweeted, recorded and presented."

Lucado says he is endorsing "Decency" for president, and Donald Trump is far from it. The well-known Christian author said he is puzzled at all the support that the public is giving the real estate mogul despite his behavior.

Despite his often controversial comments, Trump has snagged the support of Republican voters. The billionaire also received his first official Senate endorsement from Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions. Plus, former candidate rival Chris Christie has since backed Trump for president, and even complimented Trump for being someone who could shoot a person and still be loved by the people.

Republican voters may be putting their faith in Trump's candidacy because they see him as their only choice, as other hopefuls are simply offering what has been on the table before for years and has not worked.

Trump has also promised to work hard to give Christians a lobby if he were to win the presidential race. Many voters who are frustrated with the liberalization of American culture and the erosion of religious liberties, as well as problems with immigration, healthcare, and the economy, seem to want something radically different than what has been on offer before, and Trump it seems is appealing to that desire among fed-up voters.

One commenter on Max Lucado's blog said they do not have any choice right now but to support Donald Trump because the government has changed there rules on marriage and abortion, and another commenter said the situation needs to be fixed immediately and Trump seems to be the only candidate who is willing to at least try and do that.
