Outspoken 2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump is receiving criticism for recently describing the head of the Democratic National Committee as a "terrible person" and "highly neurotic."

The Democratic National Committee recently slammed Trump as carrying out "misogynistic attacks" against DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Trump recently said on Breitbart News that he thinks Wasserman Schultz is a "terrible person."

[You] have this crazy Wasserman Schultz — Deborah Wasserman Schultz — who is in there, a highly neurotic woman," the real estate mogul said.

"This is a woman that is a terrible person. I watch her on television. She's a terrible person," Trump continued. "And in all fairness, she negotiated a great deal for Hillary because they gave Hillary all softballs."

The Democratic National Committee then released a statement calling Trump's comments "misogynistic attacks."

"The Republican front-runner's misogynistic attacks are sadly representative of the GOP's outdated approach to women and the issues that affect them and their families," DNC spokeswoman Kaylie Hanson told CNN in a statement. "Whether it's trying to get between them and their doctor, opposing equal pay for equal work, or using offensive language, the Republican Party is wrong for women."

Trump also recently butted heads with comedian John Oliver, after claiming via Twitter that Oliver's camp had asked Trump to appear on their HBO show, "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver."

Although Trump made this claim, Oliver's program shot back, arguing that they never asked Trump to serve as a guest on their HBO program.
