'Dishonored 2' patch news update, details: new patch update fixes frame rate and mouse issues

As promised, Bethesda released a new patch update to fix issues experienced by many players of \"Dishonored 2.\" | Bethesda/Steam

Bethesda's newly released stealth game, "Dishonored 2," had been experiencing performance and graphic glitches since it launched a few weeks ago.

Among the most common complaints by players of the game were frame stutters and mouse performance problems. Bethesda now answered the problem through a patch 1.2 update that smooths out the game and minimizing such issues.

As promised, Bethesda released the update, which is made to address broader issues. In addition, players who are also using Nvidia are recommended to download the 375.95 driver update since it was found out that previous drivers caused the game to experience issues.

Players are also cautioned to only use high-end graphical settings if they have high-end hardware as another means to avoid gameplay crashes and issues with "Dishonored 2." Players can see the full patch notes here.

Like the previous installment, "Dishonored 2" is praised for its well-made graphics and game scenery. Game developer Arkane made sure that players notice the huge leap in the environment for the game — creating an actual and real world wherein players can actually go across a border and explore it, as compared with the first one wherein the game background is merely a matte painting.

"It's a real city and it allows us to cheat sometimes with the background, with the vista," shares Sebastien Mitton, art director of the game. "It's like in the background of a movie where you change the focal point of the camera to make something in the background seem closer, you change the FOV. We've played with that and with the emotion," he added.

Arkane reveals that the environment for "Dishonored 2" contained more complex and layered stuff, compared with the first one. "Sometimes you see the mountain in the distance, that's cool. Sometimes you've scaled that mountain and sometimes it's like wow — now it's hanging over the character and just about to rain. It drives emotion. It's a new tool," Mitton added.

"Dishonored 2" is now available for PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
