When "Dishonored 2" made its debut earlier last month, the game initially received good reviews citing its gameplay dynamics and at the same time it is fulfilling. However, it is not without a hiccup as multiple PC issues were reported that somehow dampened the enthusiasm of desktop gamers. Fortunately, Bethesda quickly acted on it with an ongoing set of tweaks being released the latest one bringing "general performance and optimization improvements."

The 1.3 patch in beta, which is now available via Steam, mainly adds the option to turn off camera motion blur as well as offer better and easier mouse navigation and functionality, which had movement speed issues. It also addresses a couple of problems that are rooted toward the interface and options menu. A new multi-monitor support, on the other hand, fixes a bug that has been causing the game to not display by default on the main monitor. For the list of the complete patch notes, head here.

Alongside these new changes, Bethesda once again reminded players to upgrade to Nvidia's 375.95 driver as they have "identified an issue with drivers 375.70 and 375.86 unique to Dishonored 2 which impacts performance."

Game director Harvey Smith admitted in a recent interview with Gixel that they did not expect this multitude of snags for PC to come out. He tries to empathize with gamers as he shares that he himself knows the hassle of having to deal with a bug-ridden gameplay.

"There were certain combinations of things that we just didn't expect, despite extensively testing the game; very high-end CPUs with low-end GPUs, and older drivers, things like that," Smith said. "I'm a PC gamer. There is nothing like running on a super high-end PC. But it's also the most varied platform to support. It's way, way more complicated than consoles."

Given that the patch is still in beta, players who would like to sample it would need to opt in it right away by right clicking "Dishonored 2" in the Steam library, selecting Properties, Betas and then BetaPatch from the drop down menu. After that, wait for the game to finish updating until "Dishonored 2 [BetaPatch]" appears in the title.
