'Destiny: Rise of Iron' updates: New story, new game modes revealed

As previously reported, video game developer Bungie will release the expansion entitled "Rise of Iron" for the game "Destiny" in less than a month. The upcoming expansion will showcase brand new weapons, armor, maps, systems, modes and more.
In the game, players will assist Lord Saladin, the last surviving Iron Lord. The game will explore what happened to the past Iron Lords and what had caused their annihilation. In the process, gamers will learn that the Iron Lords were destroyed by nanotechnology named Siva. When this technology is harnessed by the aliens called Fallen, gamers will have to step in the shoes of the Iron Lords to stop the antagonists and save the universe. The recently released documentary about "Rise of Iron" revealed the highlights of the forthcoming expansion.
In the expansion, the landscape of the game will be brand new. One of the new places is called Felwinter Peak, which is where the Iron Lords were annihilated. This is also where players will battle it out with the Fallen during a blizzard, another feature that is particularly new to "Destiny." Moreover, Felwinter Peak will be a social hub where players can meet up, visit shops and change gear. This is also where players can select new quests.
Bungie also finally decided to add private matches to "Rise of Iron." This new mode will allow fans to invite friends to join the game.
Although the game developer will be introducing new features, gamers are expecting to be reunited with Gjallahorn, the exotic rocket launcher from "Destiny."
"Destiny: Rise of Iron" will launch on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Xbox One gamers can purchase "Rise of Iron" as a standalone expansion for $29.99 on the Microsoft Store while PlayStation 4 gamers can buy the game from the PlayStation Store, Game or Amazon. On the other hand, fans may opt to buy "Destiny: The Collection" which consists of the base game and all its expansions. The pack costs $60.
