"Destiny" update 2.2.0 was announced by Bungie, the game developer company behind the successful online shooter game, and the release is slated to be on April 12. Bungie has also teased some features that will be added upon launching the latest game patch.

According to Games Radar, the update 2.2.0 (also called the April update by Bungie) will offer several interesting additions in the gameplay. Bungie revealed in a blog post some of the add-ons such as new PVE challenges, a brand new and updated set of gears, a new quest that features the "Blighted Chalice Strike," increased max light and rewards, and the updates for Sandbox and Crucible, among others.

"About 200 Clans will encounter some minor housekeeping... If your Clan includes more than 100 people across two platforms (i.e. PlayStation Network and Xbox Live), you'll see your members broken out across two rosters in your existing private group. The older of the two Clans will need to be given a new unique name," Bungie has revealed regarding the expected twists in the Clan.

This will not be the last time that we would be hearing from Bungie regarding the 2.2.0 update. Bungie has scheduled three streaming events where they will introduce some of the game designers and artists to discuss the things they included in the update. The three-part streaming will begin on Mar. 24 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, with the first part having the theme "New Things to Do," while the second streaming will be on Mar. 30 with the theme "New Things to Earn." Lastly, on April 6, six days before the actual release of update 2.2.0, the third part of the live streaming will be held with the theme "Sandbox and Crucible Updates."

Aside from the game itself, a new Clan leaderboard will also debut at Bungie's website where players will know the actual in-game leaders. "Discovering a sense of belonging with an awesome crew is one thing. Becoming an alpha among your peers is like reaching the top of your own personal pyramid." Bungie further discussed.
