If the latest reports about Bungie's next game are anything to go by, fans will not have to wait that long to get their first look of the highly-anticipated sequel, "Destiny 2."

According to the Weekly Update from Bungie, the team will take part in the PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016 to be held in Anaheim, California on Dec. 3 and 4.

Bungie was cryptic about what they plan to do at PlayStation Experience, saying: "The particulars of our mission are still a mystery. We'll cross that finish line soon."

However, VG247 speculates that the developer has something big prepared for PSX 2016, but before they go there, the team will first visit The Game Awards, where they could reveal "Destiny 2."

The prestigious event is always the go-to for game announcements and if the speculations are any indication, Bungie will be one of the companies to take advantage of the ceremony to unveil their next project.

They could then follow up this reveal with showing a demo of "Destiny 2" at the PlayStation Experience. However, at the moment, this is mere speculation.

New content for "Destiny" is actually on the way so they might focus on that in the said events instead of "Destiny 2."

In their latest Weekly Update, Bungie teased, "We'll be back in the swing of things next week. The cadence of new content in Destiny is about to speed up again. We hope you can keep up."

"Destiny 2" has been making the headlines even though it is still in development. Rumor has it that it will be released in the personal computer (PC) complete with a new and improved Raid matchmaking system.

"Destiny 2" is also expected to be completely new, with no traces of the first game's characters and locations and the addition of new play spaces that will keep fans extra busy.

"Destiny 2" is expected to be released late 2017.
