The sequel to the online-only first-person shooter video game, "Destiny" is said to be "rebooted." According to several sources who told Kotaku, the development of the second game title of the franchise is currently experiencing some issues as a result of Harold Ryan's retirement earlier this year.

Filling in his post is Luke Smith, the popular director of "The Taken King." Smith has been given the responsibility to head the ongoing production of the game title. What's interesting is that the development will allegedly start from the beginning, which means that the release could be delayed again.

Apparently, the game developer and its publisher Activision do not want to continue with what Ryan has already started.

Previous reports suggested that "Destiny 2" will be released late this year. Due to the delay, fans can expect the game to come out sometime in the first quarter of 2017.

Meanwhile, Bungie will release an expansion pack for the current game title, which will be called "Rise of Iron." According to reports, the DLC update will be available for download on Sept. 20. Leaked information coming from Reddit reveals that the expansion will be unveiled at the coming Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 at the Lost Angeles Convention Center.

The company is said to be also working on polishing the current game title and fix all the bugs that have been bothering some players.

"We even fixed a Super exploit before it could become common knowledge," David Dague, the community manager of "Destiny," write on the game's official website.

"Which subclass missed a chance to enjoy a reign of terror? The world may never know. The Guardians who tipped us off privately about this one are the real MVPs," he added.

As of the moment, fans are hoping that Bungie or Activision will provide significant information with regard to the development of the second installment.
