'Destiny 2' release date news: Full game sequel almost launched in 2015; Set to finally land in 2017?

American game developer company Bungie has been very busy recently with the release of huge game content packs for the highly popular first person shooter video game "Destiny." The successful game studio revealed that they will be releasing another huge DLC pack for "Destiny" after the video game's third expansion pack called "The Taken King" has been released and earned positive remarks from the players. However, "Destiny" fans may have to look forward and move on to the company's next phase of plans as Bungie has again confirmed that a full game sequel called "Destiny 2" is still on its way and they are targeting a 2017 launching.

A report from Yibada states that Bungie and the game publisher Activision have been working hand in hand to create "Destiny 2" with a rumored title "Beyond Destiny," although the initial release date rumors of summer 2017 might not happen and the actual launching of "Destiny 2" is now expected at a much later date, probably around fall of 2017.

Delay in release schedule of "Destiny 2" has been covered over the past few years. The same Yibada report noted that the rumored delay to Fall 2017 of the release of "Destiny 2" is the third time since the first report of the video game sequel came out.

Game entertainment website We Got This Covered mentioned that Bungie had its initial plans to launch "Destiny 2" as early as 2015, with allegedly leaked court documents surfaced on the internet that reveals some information about the sequel's development stage. The said court documents were from the legal dispute between Bungie and its former employee Marty O'Donnell.

After the initial 2015 release date rumors, "Destiny 2" had been rumored to be released as early as this year. However, more updates regarding the real score of the game sequel's development came in and hinted on the possible new delay in schedule, much to the dismay of fans. In the meantime, Bungie is reported to target a 2017 launch for "Destiny 2."
