Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to announce a new cast member of "Deadpool 2."

He announced on his social media account that Zazie Beetz, who was part of "Atlanta," will be playing the role of Domino, a mutant assassin, in the upcoming sequel of 2016's "Deadpool."

In the comics, Domino has the ability to change probability. She is able to control circumstances so that things will always go in her favor. She is a partner of Cable, who was mentioned in the end credits of "Deadpool."

The roles of Cable and Domino can become major in the near future, should the film producers choose to make a "Deadpool" spin-off featuring this team of mutants. Robert Liefeld, who is one of the creators of "Deadpool," said that a lot of actors are trying out for the role, given that it is one of the hottest roles being offered in Hollywood right now.

Although Reynolds' character mentioned Keira Knightley as someone who can play the role, it does not seem like the film's writers or its producer are seriously considering the actress to play a gender-bent version of the time-traveling mutant. Instead, David Harbour, who plays the role of Sheriff Jim Hopper in the Netflix series "Stranger Things," is rumored to be considered for the role, with The Wrap reporting that the actor recently screen-tested for Cable. Harbour and his representatives, however, have refused to give a statement with regard to his association in the upcoming film.

"John Wick" co-director David Leitch will be taking Tim Miller's role as the film director of "Deadpool 2" after the latter left the project due to creative differences with Reynolds.

Meanwhile, a short trailer for "Deadpool 2" was shown in select theaters during the pre-credits scene of "Logan." It showed Deadpool trying and failing to rescue a civilian from being killed because the Merc with a Mouth took too long to change into his costume while in a phone booth.

"Deadpool 2" will be shown in theaters in 2018. As of this writing, no exact date has been given for its premiere.
