'Dark Souls 3 DLC' release date news 2016: Ashes of Ariandel, first of two DLCs to launch in October

After a series of leaks about the upcoming "Dark Souls 3" downloadable content (DLC), video game producer Bandai Namco Entertainment finally confirmed the rumors with the release of a new trailer.
For $14.99, players can explore the frozen land of Ariandel with the upcoming DLC entitled "Ashes of Ariandel." The upcoming DLC pack for "Dark Souls 3" will allow players to explore a brand new area, discover its secrets and protect the land from evil using brand new weapons.
A trailer and screenshots of "Ashes of Ariandel" were recently uploaded, and it revealed a lot of details on the upcoming DLC.
"Ashen Ones... Enter this new world covered by snow and defeat the evil that has defiled this land," Bandai wrote for the trailer's caption.
The screenshots revealed a certain similarity to the painted world of Ariamis. The world of Ariamis exists within a painting, and like Ariandel, it is snowy and cold. In the world of Ariamis, there lives a dragon-human crossbreed called Priscilla. Although she does not exist in "Dark Souls 3," Game Spot speculated that her lineage will be linked to a character named Yorshka.
According to IGN, the DLC is meant to expand the story of "Dark Souls 3" because it will introduce never-before-seen characters, obstacles, weapons and sorcery. In addition, the DLC will contain new features for the multiplayer mode.
The first DLC pack for "Dark Souls 3" will launch on Tuesday, Oct. 25, for the PS4, Xbox One and for personal computers.
The second and last DLC pack for "Dark Souls 3" will be revealed in 2017. Players can purchase the first DLC for $14.99 or as part of the "Dark Souls 3" season pass, which will include the second DLC pack. The seasons pass costs $24.99.
For those who have yet to purchase the game, Stream is offering a good discount for "Dark Souls 3," selling it for $40 until Friday, Aug. 26.
