'Daredevil' season 3 spoilers news 2016: Perfect villain for next season; release on hold until 'The Defenders' premiere?
Charlie Cox, who plays the titular role in the series "Daredevil" season 3, believes that the perfect villain for the upcoming season is Bullseye. It is not only that, but the character would be a great match with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), according to him. Cox thinks that the villain would be an interesting addition to the line of antagonists who have appeared on the show.
"If we are fortunate enough to continue making the Daredevil series, I can't imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn't show up at some point," the lead actor said.
He pointed out that Bullseye would be great to have around when the time comes. Perhaps the third run for "Daredevil" would be a most appropriate and timely occasion. When the actor first mentioned it after the first season of the show, he mentioned that he had no inkling as to who could play the part, but he believed that the antagonist could be a "rich character" to explore, with the additional perk of having had a history with Page.
For those who are not familiar with Bullseye, the villain has the ability to make a lethal projectile out of anything. He has been the bane of Daredevil's existence. Fans of the comics know that the killer has murdered a lot of Matt Murdock's (Cox) relatives and friends alike, including Page.
The showrunner, Steve DeKnight, has in fact talked of how the character of Bullseye could be introduced into the show. Jason Statham has been rumored to have been slated for the role.
Presently, a release date has not been announced for "Daredevil" season 3. However, it has been been rumored that it may not come out until after the release of the new Netflix superhero series, "The Defenders."
It was even reported that while Cox himself was interested in how the Daredevil figures in the upcoming Netflix show, he mentioned that "Daredevil" season 3 may not happen.
"We don't know if there's going to be a season three, I certainly don't know."
More revealing reports may come once the latest show on Netflix has been launched.
