'Daredevil' season 3 release date delay due to 'The Defenders'? Blu-ray editions arriving soon

Netflix may be juggling series projects at the moment, which does not bode well for the much anticipated "Daredevil" season 3 release. The streaming giant is said to be putting the next season of the show on hold for its new show, "The Defenders," which is currently being worked on.
For those who are not aware, the two shows share a lead actor, Charlie Cox, as well as showrunners, Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. The new series will feature a team of heroes that includes Daredevil (played by Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). The series is said to premiere in 2017.
Because of this, it is possible the production would stand in the way of "Daredevil" moving forward. However, fans of the blind superhero are finding it curious that no official mention has been given by Netflix regarding the next installment, in contrast to the immediate season 2 order that followed the critical acclaim of the first run. It comes as even more strange that the "Daredevil" lead star himself has no idea at all when it comes to the future of the series.
"We don't know if there's going to be a season three. I certainly don't know," the 33-year-old actor said.
While the possibilities of a new season for "Daredevil" are still in question, fans may be glad to find out that their favorite show will be coming to DVD and Blu-Ray. For those without a Netflix subscription, the DVD and Blu-Ray copies will finally allow them to enjoy the show's highly applauded debut season starting this October.
Fans in the United Kingdom may even catch an area-exclusive Steelbook Edition that features original art done by Joe Quesada, Marvel's top creative officer. The special edition has been placed on pre-order status with an Oct. 3 release date.
The Blu-ray editions of the 13 episodes-run of "Daredevil" season 1 will be contained in four discs.
