'Daredevil' season 3 release date, cast news, plot updates: Charlie Cox wants Bullseye to appear next season

Charlie Cox, who plays the titular role in the Netflix series "Daredevil," has been pushing to feature the comic villain Bullseye to appear on its third season. Meanwhile, there might be a Matt and Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) love team to look forward to in season 3.

"Daredevil" was previously confirmed for season 3 at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, according to Den of Geek. Since then, Cox has been constantly expressing to the media how much he would like to have Bullseye as one of season 3's villains.

Screen Geek reports that Cox shared a statement at the Wizard World in Pittsburgh last November saying that he gets in trouble for saying that he would like to have Bullseye to make an appearance in the "Daredevil" series.

But the actor still pushes the idea anyway. "I think it's a really interesting opportunity. Deborah Ann Woll obviously does not want Bullseye to show up for obvious reasons. Elodie Young, who plays Elektra, doesn't want Bullseye to show up either," he said.

Cox is referring to the story line in the comic series where Elektra and Karen die at the hands of Bullseye.

Meanwhile, there might be a new Matt–Karen pairing that fans can look forward to when "Daredevil" season 3 premieres.

In an interview with SEAT42F, Woll shared that she enjoys the romantic pairing of Matt and Karen in "Daredevil." But the actress thinks that in order for their relationship to work, her character must reveal her true feelings toward Matt.

"That's really going to be her move, because when does she decide to tell Matt that she represents everything he hates?" said Woll.

There has been no confirmation yet when the third season of "Daredevil" will premiere on Netflix, but Woll confirms that "The Defenders" series will have to air first, which is slated for a 2017 release date.

"Daredevil" season 3 is expected to debut in 2018 on Netflix.
