'Daredevil' Season 3 news and updates: Premiere date pushed back to make way for 'The Defenders'

The second season of Netflix's hit superhero series "Daredevil" came to a close last March and since then, fans are left hanging as to when their favorite hero will be back on screen.
In the show's sophomore season-ender, Matt Murdock finally revealed his true identity to his love interest Page, while Elektra's body was recovered by the Hand. Frank Castle found the closure he needed after he burned his family's house.
Despite the third season not being on the horizon, fans have some theories which they think will be in the show's upcoming storyline. Elektra coming back from the dead is definitely plausible, but there is a character in the comic books who is speculated to cause trouble in Hell's Kitchen — Bullseye. In the comic series, Bullseye is a psychopathic assassin who killed Karen Page.
Rumor has it that the blind vigilante will not be back in his solo series anytime soon because of the upcoming miniseries titled "The Defenders." Since the show will be made up of Marvel characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist, issues with scheduling are getting in the way of the standalone show's production. Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez already left the show to work as showrunners for "The Defenders" which makes the third season for "Daredevil" less likely to premiere in the coming months.
In an interview with Independent back in April, Daredevil's portrayer Charlie Cox mentioned how excited he was to work on the mini-series. "What we do know is at the end of this year we're going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome," Cox explained. "I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show. I'm very excited to see how those world's combine... and interested to see totally how those shows become one."
"Daredevil" season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in 2017 or 2018, but as of this writing, the series has no official premiere date yet.
