Dance Moms news: Tension rises between mothers of Mini and Elite dancers

The sixth season of "Dance Moms" showed a lot of tension in the studio, especially when Abby Lee Miller seemingly favored the mini dance group. Mothers of the elite team were not happy about the recent events and were going against the mothers of the younger dancers.
"Is this the end of the road for me? Is this the end of the road for all of you?" Abby asked her students in pyramid while seemingly assigning the elite girls their weekly group dance, "End of the Road."
To recap, Miller was seen dividing her time between the mini and the elite dancers. The meltdown started when Miller gave her younger dancers a lyrical dance tribute to her late mother, while the elite dancers were given a rather comical skit titled "Sun City, AZ."
The mothers were immediately upset when Miller announced that the dancers would be portraying senior citizens in the theatrical dance number.
The mothers reportedly confronted Miller, telling her that the piece was offensive to handicapped individuals. In addition, Kalani Hilliker's mother expressed that it was upsetting and disheartening that her daughter would be returning to their home state to compete with a piece that was definitely not a contender.
The mini dancers' mothers felt the brewing tension so they decided to visit the elite squad's dressing room to express their support. Their presence, however, wasn't given much importance. Nevertheless, the dancers still showed support for each other. Nia Sioux and Kalani told the mini dancers that they looked pretty in their outfits.
The elite team reportedly managed to win the Dream NDC competition without Miller's choreography. Spoilers revealed that "End of the Road," which is a "Wizard of Oz" inspired dance number, won second in the teen division and fifth overall.
Meanwhile, the mini group dance "Mime Your Business" won the top spot in their division. Brynn and Lilliana's duet titled "The Bad Deed" won second place in the junior division, while Elliana and Jojo's duet "Fan Favorite" got first place in the same division.
"Dance Moms" season 6 returns with a new episode on Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
